This is a one of a kind custom prototype central hub unit that can been used in the construction of a 16' diameter hemispherical dome PVC-based structure.

Using this central hub your entire structure sets up and breaks down completely and quickly. I can tell you how to complete your dome with 1 PVC pipe and 1-1/4 PVC fittings. It would great for camping or BURNING MAN burningman! The central hub is based on a 30 plywood disc.

The disc was designed with 12 1-1/4 PVC fitting units. Each 1-1/4" PVC arms is attached with U-bolts, and 1/4" bolts/washers/nuts. NOTE : Your (12) 1 PVC lengths of pipe fit securely in these fittings and are the ribs of the dome structure. The hub unit has a span of approximately 36. There is a ton of hardware on the hub--a bit of engineering overkill--but the final product is extremely functional and solid.

Finally making the whole unit impervious to all weather, entailed first priming and painting with multiple coats Rustoleum spray paint, and then coating with flexible rubber sealer.
